Sturgis City Info

Sturgis, South Dakota was founded in 1878 on the northern edge of the Black Hills. It was a supply center for the miners heading into the hills, for ranchers, and for the nearby Fort Meade. Today Sturgis has about 6000 residents and is best known for the annual Motorcycle Rally held every August. The rally at times doubles the population of the state for the week it is held.
